Community Economic Development
Highlights of Enterprise South East's role as it relates to community economic development in the South East region include:
- Providing leadership and partnership coordination in activities and initiatives relating to economic development in the South East region
- Taking a lead role in the development and implementation of a three-year strategic plan for the South East region
- Creating, implementing, and monitoring regional integrated work plans developed by Enterprise South East and various partners
- Integrating local, provincial, and federal priorities
- Working with the appropriate partners to support the development of strategic clusters
To ensure continued economic growth in our region we work closely with our partners in a leadership, partnership, or supportive role. In the fall of 2002 we established an Advisory Forum to guide and assist us in the development and implementation of a 3-year strategic plan for the South East region. The Advisory Forum is comprised of the following partners:
- Federal government departments and elected officials
- Provincial government departments and elected officials
- Municipalities
- Representatives from Local Service Districts
- Local community development organizations
- Local business associations
- Educational institutions
- Businesses in the South East region
More information about our community economic development approach to carrying out our mandate can be found in the About Us section.
